Holiday Events in Central Florida 2023

Christmas time is our favorite time of year. It’s a great time to be able to enjoy the lights and festivities with family and friends. Here are some of the local events happening in Central Florida that you don’t want to miss.

Santa's Christmas Tree Forest

November 18-December 20th on select days. 

Tickets for Christmas season are $8. Cut your own Christmas tree, enjoy the petting zoo, hayrides, shops and more!

A Mount Dora Christmas - Starting on Saturday, November 25


This year, things will kick off with the Annual Light Up Mount Dora event at Donnelly Park where more than two million sparkling lights will brighten the night. Other events include the Christmas Walk, Christmas Parade, and performances of The Nutcracker by the Mount Dora School of Ballet. Visit for more info.

Oviedo Tree Lighting - Thursday, November 30th


Join us for a Frosty themed Tree Lighting Experience at Center Lake Park in Oviedo! There will be FREE photos with Santa, live reindeer, carolers, food trucks and more.

Winter on the Avenue

Winter On The Avenue - Starting December 1st

Join in the tradition of Winter Park holiday festivities as Park Avenue is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a tree lighting, carolers, and a visit from Santa. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the City of Winter Park, Park Avenue Merchants Association, and Enzian Theater to kickoff the holidays in Winter Park the first Friday evening in December.

Wekiva Island

Wekiva Island Winter Wonderland- December 1-25

The popular chill spot on the Wekiva River will feature daily events all December long such as outdoor movies, snow slides, toy soldier stilt walkers, Santa visits, and tons of real snow. Experience evening snowfall every night at 6pm. Wekiva Island will also be open on Christmas Day. For additional information, visit $5 admission

Visit Orlando

Downtown for the Holidays - December 1- January 6

Business in downtown Orlando will be decked out with festival lights and window decorations. A map of all participating businesses can be found online or picked up at the Downtown Orlando Information Center. Additionally, starting with the official Tree Lighting Celebration on December 1, from 5-9pm Lake Eola Park’s Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree comes alive with a synchronized light and music show. City of Winter Springs Winter Wonderland - Saturday, December 2nd

Winter Springs Town Center on State Road 434 and Tuskawilla Road. Parade concludes at the Town Center. Then everyone will gather around the Christmas Tree for the annual Christmas tree lighting.


Winter Park Christmas Parade

Winter Park Christmas Parade- December 2nd

“Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade. The event has been held each December for more than 70 years, making it the oldest continuous holiday parade in Central Florida. 

Each year the parade travels down Park Avenue, starting at Cole Avenue and proceeding south to Lyman Avenue. More than 80 organizations participate including marching bands, local police and fire departments, scouting groups, local dignitaries and, of course, Santa Claus.

Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes - Saturday, December 2nd


The Sanford Historic Trust is celebrating  its annual Holiday Tour of Homes. Visit historic homes in the area and enjoy the charm of Sanford’s historic district. Start the tour at any tour stop, but you can check in first to get wristbands and a tour guidebook. Guests can also take a trolley ride, which will loop around the area. Cost is $30 per person. This event is a fundraiser for the Sanford Historic Trust. For more info visit

Oviedo's Holiday Parade

Oviedo Holiday Parade - December 2nd


Attendees line up along Oviedo Boulevard AND Center Lake Lane this year. Parade route starts at the Gym & Aquatic Center at approximately 7pm and flows through Oviedo Boulevard ending at the corner of Center Lake Lane and City Plaza!


Come early and get your food from one of the food trucks parked on City Walk Lane, then find your spot along the parade route. Vendors will be open for purchases at 5pm at Center Lake Park.

Christmas Fest at Oviedo Mall - December 2

Join City Awakening Church for a fun afternoon with tons of activities for the whole family. All the proceeds from this event go to support Samaritan Village, helping women seek freedom from trafficking.

Entry to the event is free. Wristbands are available for $20 and include bounce houses, train ride, petting zoo, games, crafts for kids, live entertainment, access to food trucks, silent auction, and local vendor market.

Activities available for additional cost include: Rock Wall, Pictures with Santa, and Cake Walk.

First Orlando's Christmas Festival - December 15-16

It’s Christmas! Celebrate with us as we hear the true meaning of the season at our Christmas Story Presentation, enjoy musical performances that feature musicians from around the globe, and experience some of the best local cuisine our city has to offer at our food trucks for purchase.

And the best part: no tickets are required! Admission is one new, unwrapped toy. Donated toys and gifts will go to one of our partner organizations already making a difference in our city.
