Christmas time is our favorite time of year. It’s a great time to be able to enjoy the lights and festivities with family and friends. Here are some of the local events happening in Central Florida that you don’t want to miss.

Oviedo High Christmas Tree Sale- Beginning November 23rd
Monday-Friday, 3-9pm; Saturday-Sunday, 9am-9pm
Prices start at $35. All proceeds benefit OHS Athletics. Located in the tent are in front of the school.
City of Winter Springs Winter Wonderland – Saturday, December 1st
4:30-9pm
Winter Springs Town Center on State Road 434 and Tuskawilla Road. Parade concludes at the Town Center. Then everyone will gather around the Christmas Tree for the 15th annual Christmas tree lighting.
Historical Society Annual Hometown Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 1st
5-8pm
Historic Lawton House, 200 W. Broadway Street, Oviedo. Santa arrives by firetruck at 6pm. Musical entertainment and refreshments.
Light Up UCF (Ride the Ferris Wheel and Ice Skate) – Opens Friday, November 16th
Take the family to this winter theme park located in the liveliest corner of the UCF Campus, the CFE Arena. Lioght Up UCF features several rides, Orlando’s largest outdoor ice-skating rink, and a Ferris wheel. Visit LightUpUCF.com/events for more info.
Winter On The Avenue – Starting in mid-November
Go ice skating with family and friends at Winter Park’s popular outdoor rink in Central Park West Meadow. All-day general admission is $13 including skate rental. On Friday, December 7th, join in the traditional Winter Park holiday festivities as Park Avenue is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with tree lighting, carolers, and more. Cut Your Own Christmas Tree in Oviedo – November 22-December 25
Saturdays and Sundays, 9am-4pm
The choice is yours at Oviedo Choose & Cut Christmas Trees, a place where you can cut down your own tree this holiday season. This service is available for $45 per tree from Thanksgiving until Christmas. A saw to cut down your tree can be provided. Call 407.235.8101 for more info.
A Mount Dora Christmas – Starting on Saturday, November 24
4:30pm-6:30pm
This year, things will kick off with the 37th Annual Light Up Mount Dora event at Donnelly Park where more than two million sparkling lights will brighten the night. Other events include the Christmas Walk, Christmas Parade, and performances of The Nutcracker by the Mount Dora School of Ballet. Visit MountDoraChristmas.com for more info.
Wekiva Island Winter Wonderland- December 1-31
The popular chill spot on the Wekiva River will feature daily events all December long such as outdoor movies, snow slides, toy soldier stilt walkers, Santa visits, and tons of real snow. Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes – Saturday, December 1st
3pm-9pm
The Sanford Historic Trust is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its annual Holiday Tour of Homes. Visit historic homes in the area and enjoy the charm of Sanford’s historic district. Start the tour at any tour stop, but you can check in first to get wristbands and a tour guidebook. Guests can also take a trolley ride, which will loop around the area. Cost is $25 per person. Downtown for the Holidays – December 1, 2018- January 6, 2019
Business in downtown Orlando will be decked out with festival lights and window decorations. A map of all participating businesses can be found online or picked up at the Downtown Orlando Information Center. Additionally, starting with the official Tree Lighting Celebration on December 1, Lake Eola Park’s Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree comes alive with a synchronized light and music show. Christmas in the Park – December 6
6:15pm-8pm
Every year, the Morse Museum kicks off the holiday season in Winter Park by lighting up Tiffany glass windows in Central Park. Bring chairs, blankets, and snacks, and sit back to enjoy the music of the night. Alcohol is allowed in the park. MorseMuseum.org/Programs-Events/Christmas-In-The-Park.

Snow Mountain-Winterfest – December 8
2pm-8pm
Waypointe Realty is sponsoring the Snow Globe and train this year at City of Oviedo’s 12 Days of Christmas celebration for Snow Mountain REVAMPED. With large snow inflatables, train rides, lights and food, this event brings in the local community. There is a free parade starting at 3:30pm on Oviedo Blvd hosted by the Oviedo Winter Springs Chamber of Commerce. Event is located at Center Lake Park in Oviedo. Singing Christmas Trees at First Baptist Orlando – December 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, and 16
Thursday and Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 5pm
The Singing Christmas Trees is an exciting presentation of Christmas classics featuring a huge choir, full orchestra, dance, powerful drama, and a beautiful display of 250,000 lights on two 45-foot-tall Christmas trees. An hour before the show begins, go for a stroll through the all-new Bethlehem village and meet characters from the traditional Christmas story and live animals in the petting zoo.
